I recently underwent a femoral hernia repair carried out by Mr Simon Monkhouse. Having experience such amzing care and professionalism, I feel compelled to highlight this in my review. During my initial consultation, Mr Monkhouse was extremely professional. He listened to my concerns and took a great deal of time to explain (in detail with impressive diagrams!) my options and possible outcomes. His warm, personable manner, put me at ease, and I left his office confident that I was in safe and very capable hands. On the day of my procedure, I was a little nervous - but Mr Monkhouse put me at ease when he visited me beforehand to explain what would be happening and asked if I had any questions. My procedure went very well, and I experienced very little pain afterwards. The whole experience surpassed my expectations. I have complete confidence in Mr Monkhouse and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to any one needing this type of procedure. I have recovered remarkably well and I feel very grateful to Mr Monkhouse for everything he's done.

We came to Mr Monkhouse after seeking private consultation. After 6 months of constant pain we felt we couldn't wait any longer for treatment. Our initial enquiry was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. We were impressed on our consultation that Mr Monkhouse had already requested previous scans and investigations. He listened to my very complex medical history with compassion and understood our anquish about being in so much pain. He explained the procedure fully using diagrams to help us understand what needed to be done. (cholecystectomy) The procedure was booked in very quickly which would give us a chance to go on our Annual family holiday with our two children. It was very reassuring to have a chat with Mr Monkhouse before and after the procedure and we felt we were in very capable and confident hands. The Aftercare I recieved was nothing like we have experienced before and all helped towards a rapid recovery. Thankyou Simon for your outstanding care and understanding at a very difficult time for us.

I have been under Mr. Monkhouse’s care for a few months, with a referral for a Hiatus hernia that was causing me daily pain and distress. I am now one month post- surgery having had a ‘Toupet Fundoplication’ and am delighted at the results. So far I have had no reflux, I am healing really well, stopping my reflux medication, also down seven kilos in weight, and in general feeling good. The ‘Open door’ policy is fantastic, knowing I can contact him at any time with any query. From first appointment to post op care, I’ve been really pleased with the communication, flexibility (having to change operation date) bedside manner, surgery results and all in all highly recommend Mr. Simon Monkhouse as my doctor/surgeon. I had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago by Simon Monkhouse and he was brilliant! From the moment I met him I knew I was in very good hands. I had been feeling unwell on and off for a year which had seriously affected my quality of life and was eventually diagnosed with a large gallstone. I was nervous about the operation but he was so kind and reassuring and kept me informed about everything that was happening. His aftercare was amazing,both at the hospital and on returning home. knowing I could contact him if I had any worries was very reassuring I can’t recommend him enough. He deserves far more than 5 stars! Thank you!

My daughter was under the care of Mr Simon Monkhouse firstly at Spire Gatwick Park and subsequently at East Surrey NHS Hospital. From the initial consultation Mr Monkhouse was informative, explaining every detail and had a demeanour that immediately put you at ease. His ability, care, dedication,diligence and understanding of individuals fears and how to allay these are second to none. His dedication to each of his patients is to be admired. I can not recommend Mr Monkhouse highly enough and would like to truly thank him and his team for the first class care given to my daughter.
